Basic Allowance For Housing (BAH)
Your BAH will be used in one of two ways. You can either rent on base or you can live off base. If you live off base, you can either rent or buy. Click Here for current BAH rates.

Little Rock Air Force Base is home to the 19th Airlift Wing which is in charge of the Department of Defense’s C-130 Hercules transport fleet. The fleet’s main mission is to airdrop supplies and troops to disaster victims in hostile areas. The base at one time was the home of over 15 intercontinental ballistic missiles. Little Rock Air Force Base Child Development Center is located in the back of the Thomas Community Activity Center and offers services to children three years and older. There is a waiting list of the child care programs, a DD Form 2606 can be picked up at the center and mailed back in. Housing at Little Rock Air Force Base offers over 1500 units for officers and enlisted personnel including dormitories for single soldiers. Upon arrival, military personnel are asked to check in at housing office to determine available of on-post housing. The housing office also maintains a list of off-post properties. There is a waiting list for a basic allowance for housing (BAC) as occupancy must be 90% or more before BAH is approved. Both homes for rent and homes for sale are available in the nearby communities of Sherwood and Little Rock.
Temporary lodging is available at the Razorback Inn where up to a 30 day stay may be approved. The lodge’s front desk is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If no on-post housing is available, report to the Lodging Office, Building 1024 to get authorization for contract quarters. Schools on base are part of the Arnold Elementary School District, and off-base schools are part of the Pulaski County Special School District. If students live more than one mile from their assigned school, free transportation is provided. Private and parochial schools are also options as are gifted student and special needs programs. Schools are accredited by the Arkansas Nonpublic School Accrediting Association. For continuing education for adults, contact the Base Education Center.
